How does COOLSENSE® PAIN NUMBING APPLICATOR Work?

The anesthetic device uses a unique cooling (Cryo) system in numbing the injection site of the body. It has no chemicals involved and no side effects to worry about. It takes only 3-5 seconds for the device to provide relief and numbness to certain parts of the body where the injection takes place. The applicator is suitable for patients regardless of age, whether it be for infants, children, adults, or the elderly.

The device’s head unit contains an alcoholic gel which controls disinfection and stimulates a cooling sensation to the skin or site of contact. It can be reused as long as there is sufficient gel in the applicator or it is restored in the freezer for a given amount of time.

So, how is it being used? Before the procedure, make sure the device is stored in the freezer for at least an hour. Once the temperature on its thermometer reaches 0-4°C, remove it from the freezer and use it immediately. When using the device, make sure it is cold enough to essentially numb the skin.

Simply remove the cap and lubricate the head unit of the device with alcohol. Position the head unit of the device or the top of the metal pin at the site of contact. Do this within 3-5 seconds. Once done, your patient will feel the numbness promptly. Follow with the main procedure, which is injection.
